Unlike many readers, I came to Agatha Raisin through the TV series before discovering the books — and looking back, I understand why the show leaned so heavily into comedy.

My definition of a Cozy (or cosy in British) mystery is a mystery that doesn’t leave you in terror and sleepless nights. There will, more than likely, always be humor, a central location to the crime and where everyone lives (for example a village in the English countryside..where apparently no one is safe), a town baddie and the solver of said mystery is usually never been part of law enforcement. I typically read American and British cozy’s on a variety of topics.
